When you are planning on taking the police written exam, you need to make sure you are really prepared for it. This is a very important part of the testing process, and along with the police oral exam, the written will help determine whether you make the cut or not.

This exam can be passed, and you shouldn't have any doubts about that. But it was made to be challenging. The creators of the exam don't want just anybody passing, and it was made to weed out those who can't handle the demands of a law enforcement job. In order to pass you need to study hard and mentally prepare yourself for the type of exam this is.

First, you need to make sure that you are in the right mind-set. If you want to pass the police written exam, you need to make sure that you are thinking like a police officer; just like you need to think like a scientist when you are taking a science exam. Try your best to get into the head of the law enforcement people who wrote these tests, and figure out what they are looking for.

Also, you need to make sure that you have a good idea of what you are going to be facing as far as the questions go. You are going to be tested on your basic math and reading skills, along with comprehension, problem solving, and information retention.

One of the most important things that you need for the police written exam is a good study guide. Many of the guides that are readily available are not what you need. They only cover the very basics of the exams, and their test questions don't prepare you for what is on the real tests.

Find a study guide that really challenges you, and goes into detail regarding what the exam will be like and what you will be expected to accomplish.

Once you have a guide that will teach you what you need to know, make sure you study it every day. The few who are willing to sacrifice time each day are the few that will succeed in passing the police written exam. The same goes for the police oral exam once you get to that point.

If you need help with some parts of the test, find someone to assist you. If you have a friend in law enforcement, they may be able to help you learn how to think like an officer. They may also have extra pointers on how you can pass the exams with ease.

With the right study guide and a schedule, you should have no trouble gaining all the information you need to pass the police written exam. Once you get over this hurtle, you can apply the same ideas to the police oral exam and pass it as well. Then you will be ahead of the game when it comes to getting a job
